The purpose of this project was to examine “why 3D printing.” As a class, we aimed to designed research projects that would investigate the utility of 3D printing. We wanted to see in what ways 3D printing could be utilized efficiently, but also in an effective way that eased workflow and productivity.

I set out to create a garment that would utilize additive manufacturing in its assembly in a way that made the garment easier to assemble than by using traditional methods. I decided to make a structured garment using TPU filament and organza fabric, two materials that benefit each other in unique ways to create a garment more efficiently than otherwise possible.
