Newsworthy
I still can’t quite believe it—but this week, I had the incredible opportunity to appear on both CBS and NBC News, representing Prophet Envoy alongside the founder and creative visionary. As the lead designer, I was invited to speak about our upcoming feature during Paris Fashion Week and what it meant to bring our message-driven designs to one of the biggest stages in fashion.
We aimed to share the story. We spoke about how Prophet Envoy began—as a faith-rooted brand focused on telling powerful stories of Black revolutionaries—and how it’s evolved into something that merges fashion, design, and purpose. For me, that meant talking about the process behind our pieces: the research, the materials, the cultural reverence that goes into every stitch.
Being on live TV brought its own kind of adrenaline. But as soon as I started talking about the collection—the pieces we showed in Paris, the reception they got, and the meaning behind them—it felt natural. I got to share not just the aesthetics of our designs, but the why. I talked about our use of historical imagery, layered fabrics, and tactile storytelling. I talked about designing for both impact and wearability.
What really moved me was the reaction from viewers—messages poured in after the segments aired. People were excited, curious, and deeply affected by the mission of Prophet Envoy. It reminded me that design doesn’t end on the runway or the page—it lives in dialogue, in community, in collective memory.
To sit beside the founder and speak not only as a designer, but as a co-creator of something meaningful, was an honor I won’t forget. Prophet Envoy was never just about clothes. It’s about message, movement, and memory. And this week, we got to share that message with the world—on air, in our own voices.
