QUILTED SHOE

The quilted shoes project started as a playful exploration of softness, structure, and form. I was interested in how quilting—a technique rooted in warmth and craft—could be reimagined in a footwear context. I began by experimenting with different fabric compositions, padding thicknesses, and stitch patterns to see how far I could push comfort without sacrificing shape. The goal was to merge coziness with bold, sculptural design, resulting in shoes that felt like wearable objects of care.

Each shoe was developed through sketching and 3D modeling, pushing my design capabilities while allowing me to explore a new side of design and rendering. The quilting wasn’t just decorative—it served as structure, cushioning, and visual identity all at once.

Beyond functionality, these shoes are an experiment in how comfort can become a design language. The exaggerated padding and tactile surfaces invite touch and spark curiosity, while the silhouette challenges conventional sneaker or slipper forms. In blending the familiar with the unexpected, this project became an exploration of emotional design—using texture, form, and material memory to create footwear that feels personal, comforting, and a little bit surreal.
