Work From HOME
“How can we improve the physical and mental well being of people who work from home?”
I proposed a product that serves to create a sense of community and connect remote workers with their coworkers and colleagues.
My initial research was conducted through academic sources and online databases, focusing on trending data related to people working from home in the post-COVID era.
To build on these findings, I designed a series of probes to collect qualitative data from individuals within my own community who work remotely, helping to narrow and deepen the focus of my research.
I interviewed a series of people in my community who worked from home, and focused on getting their opinion on communication, productivity, and generational differences.
I then sent out a survey to my broader community, and gathered more data on people’s opinions and personal experiences.
I categorized all of the collected data into three key areas: social, personal, and professional. This framework helped me organize important insights and lived experiences into actionable design opportunities.
I decided to design a device aimed at reducing distractions and enhancing productivity. It functions as both a meeting space and a productivity tracker—intentionally created to avoid adding yet another distracting app or reason to pick up a mobile device.
